Youth Academy
Fall Season August-November / Spring February - May
Youth Academy players are comprised of returning and/or new players and requires a 4-month commitment per season. Fall season runs August - November, Spring season run February - May. Players must demonstrate a steady commitment to their training and development through consistent touches on the ball.
All Youth Academy teams competes in either a local youth league or the STYSA Players League. The league offers playing opportunities for competitive teams in Houston and the surrounding areas of the Eastern District, and serves as the qualifying league for entry into other South Texas & USYS competitions. STX Youth Soccer manages all operations of the league including rules of play, registration, scheduling and field usage, disciplinary actions, and referee assignments.

- One time registration fee $170 per child. (Paid once per season) Covers league fees, administrative fee, and player insurance.
- Subscription $332.5 - This fee is split into three payments of $110 due on or before the first of each month.

Competitive Programs
Fall Season August-December / Spring Season February - May
Competitive players are comprised of returning and/or new players. This program requires a 8-month commitment. This program is best suited for players who are committed to their development and advancing their technical skills while embracing the highest level of coaching.
As players age through the program, they will be challenged mentally and physically. Top performing players will have an opportunity to tryout with Elite teams if requested dependent on roster availability.
This program travels to an average of 3-5 colleges and universities across the nation to compete and gain valuable playing experience against actual college teams in an official capacity. This allows athletes to compete in a more direct capacity in front of college coaches allowing both players and coaches to make more immediate recruitment decision.

Semi Professional
Season Length July - May
Semi-Pro/UPSL players are comprised of returning and/or new players. This program requires a 11-month commitment. This is the highest competitive level at SmithFIT. This program is best suited for advance players who are committed to their development and advancing their technical skills while embracing the highest level of coaching and game play.
This program travels to an average of 3-5 colleges and universities across the nation to compete and gain valuable playing experience against actual college teams in an official capacity. This allows athletes to compete in a more direct format in front of college coaches allowing both players and coaches to make more immediate recruitment decision.
Our Semi-Professional program compete in the UPSL Premier Division which host academy level program from some of the top youth sports organizations across the nation, including the Houston Dynamo. The SmithFIT Semi-Professional Program is comprised of the top returning and/or new players who have the skills necessary to compete at both a club and collegiate level. This program requires a year-long commitment. This program is the highest competitive level we offer at SmithFIT. Our Showcase Program has many benefits such as collegiate level exposure and tactics, however, it is a significant time commitment, and is physically and mentally demanding. To be considered a Showcase player, you must show an extraordinary commitment to training and development.
Additionally, a player must possess the ability to prioritize a rigorous competition schedule as roster positions and playing time is 100% earned based on merit, and are never guaranteed. The Semi-Pro Team follows a highly challenging and intricately designed curriculum aimed at preparing players for top college programs.
The Semi-Professional program at SmithFIT consists of two levels of competition: (1) United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), and (2) College Showcases.
The Houston Football Association (HFA) is fully sanctioned US United States Soccer Federation. HFA is the most competitive Amateur Professional league in the City of Houston, and provides a high-level of play between top caliber Division I teams. HFA aids in developing competitive youth soccer players across the city.
College Showcases are one of the most important aspects of a player’s transition to the collegiate level. The Showcase Team travels to an average of 6-8 colleges and university across the nation to compete and gain valuable playing experience against actual college teams in an official capacity. This allows athletes to compete in a more direct capacity in front of college coaches allowing both players and coaches to make more immediate recruitment decision.
